LOVELAND ~ A far off land where the dusty roads echo the zeitgeist of the 1960s, revolution is in the air and love is in the hearts of the forever young.

As we started styling this shoot, we kept feeling this strong military vibe threading it all together… The dusty canvas tent of the campsite, that camouflage tee that we picked up at the army disposal store, that hand-sewn flag waving in those chimes of freedom flashing… We kept floating back on memories that were never ours, but memories lived a thousand times through the haunting sounds of Dylan and Joan Baez and that gang – the whispers on the wind, ‘make love not war‘…

I guess it’s all part of that same world away that we seek in raiding our mums’ 60s wardrobes, traipsing barefoot at festivals or arms raised through the sunroof mid-highway on a road trip – freedom. Or standing tall and strong in the fickle world of fashion, fighting for it, waving a flag made of hand-sewn scarves in protest for all those moments you just want to dress the way you dress. If we close our eyes, and allow that paradox, we might just hear the soft guitar strum of Dylan’s anthem blowin' in the wind…
